NIGHT RIOTS
NIGHT RIOTS
When NIGHT RIOTS first broke out on the scene, the Los Angeles-based quintet was touring in support of Howl, their critically acclaimed EP featuring the hit single “Contagious,” which shot to No. 1 on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation while amassing over 4.5 million streams.
The EP drew comparisons to The Cure (MTV) and The Killers (Earmilk), was described as “new wavey bliss” (Billboard) and saw the band praised for their “anthemic, synth-laden rock” (Spin).
The band (vocalist Travis Hawley, bassist Mikel Van Kranenburg, guitarists Nick Fotinakes and Matt DePauw and drummer Rico Rodriguez) played hundreds of shows in support, sharing stages with the likes of Lana Del Rey, Morrissey, Cage The Elephant, Walk The Moon, OK Go, The Mowgli's, Angels & Airwaves and many more, while also garnering praise from the likes of KCRW, Huffington Post, KROQ, All Things Go, Nylon and AV Club, among others.
A year later they returned with the much-anticipated LOVE GLOOM, produced by Joe Chiccarelli (Morrissey, Spoon, The Strokes) and recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles.
As for the album’s production, Hawley says, “Love Gloom was a first for us in a lot of ways. In the past we had always taken a more paced stance on recording, tracking a few songs, taking a break and then writing more.  This time we wrote and wrote and wrote until we had a huge collection of songs.  We then refined and rehearsed them at our home studio until we felt like an album was speaking to us. We live in a time where through the aid of computers, music and art can be digitally squeezed, quantized, pitch-shifted, wrapped in cool packaging and shoved out into the market.  But Joe Chiccarelli urged us to leave the nuances, take risks and let the music be real. When we discussed records that inspired us we realized that they were vulnerable, with flaws and eccentricities that made us able to connect not only to the music as a whole but to the players performing as individuals. And we wanted that. It was important to us that our music be as real as possible and to allow our individual personalities to combine to create the whole.”
The result is LOVE GLOOM, an album Buzzbands described as “the sound of urban desperados wandering rain-slickened streets, hearts playing tug-of-war with hope and despair.”
Among the album’s many highlights is “Nothing Personal,” “Fangs,” “Breaking Free,” and “Don’t Kill The Messenger,” all part of a collection of songs filled with moody-but-danceable melodies and atmospheric arrangements. The band toured in support of Love Gloom with the likes of Andrew McMahon, Atlas Genius, The Hunna and The Maine before setting out on their own headlining tour, selling out shows across the US and UK.
As of 2019 Night Riots has amassed over 74 million Spotify streams and is currently wrapping up their sophomore album at Palmquist studios in LA before embarking on a headlining release run as well as UK festival debuts in Reading and Leeds.

MOONTOWER
MOONTOWER
Moontower, a three piece indie-electronic band, seeks to tell the story of a young man named William Holywood. This protagonist, much like the individual members of the band, has found himself lost in the jungle of suburbia, chasing lost loves and remedying broken promises as he navigates the odyssey of adolescence. But don’t feel bad for young William; though he may be down on his luck, his journey has just begun. Moontower is excited to invite you into his world, one of ninjas, rollers skates, pickaxes, and orange juice breakfasts.

As a band Moontower is known for their captivating live performances that feature their industrial electronic indie-pop anthems. Moontower has shared the stage with artists such as Bad Suns , YUNGBLUD , Colouring and MAGIC GIANT.
THE HOLY DARK
The Holy Dark is an emerging Portland based Gloom/Folk outfit formed by songwriter John Miller. The upcoming record “Pretty Little Bird” which was recorded in 2017 at Toadhouse Recording Studios with Adam Pike in Portland, Oregon explores the mysterious and often times bewildering complexities of human emotion.

The Holy Dark has a “sounds like folk but feels like soul” stage presents which is highly regarded as a must-see performance.

Previously performing under his own name, John Miller started releasing full length studio records in 2009 with his first chapter “Shades of Autumn Everywhere” which was recorded in Morgan Hill, California at dB Sound Studios with Ben Whittaker. This first installment immediately put him on the local radar.

John Miller continued as a solo outfit for the release of his second full length studio record “Beneath The Willow” which was also recorded with Ben Whittaker in 2012.

By this time it became clear that Miller’s next steps would lead him into something very new and much larger.

With inspiration by the cosmically profound poetry of Tracy K. Smith The Holy Dark found it’s name and is releasing “Pretty Little Bird” with the support of Showoff frontman Chris Messer’s label “Dodgeball Records” on October 31st of 2017.
